Dorset Freelance Website Design and Development

About me

I started back in 1989 working for Admiralty's Defense research, where I learnt to write software and use desktop publishing packages such as Photoshop and Pagemaker.

After spending four years getting a design degree, I went back into the industry working as a full time employee, contractor and eventually freelance.

In 1997 I moved to Brighton and worked for various studios and design companies making websites and interactive CDROMs using Macromedia Director, Flash and HTML. The time of the Dotcom bust was coming, and with it a new direction in digital design.

Sites became leaner, more flexible and less frivilous. Even though the work was much scarcer than before, I managed to specialise in Flash, using actionscript to make interactive animations and websites.

In 2003 I moved to London and worked both fulltime and freelance for various studios in the city. I continued to make interactive animations, web sites and applications using Flash and actionscript and other web technologies.

Eventually in 2007 I moved back to Dorset where I am now based, working freelance making bespoke dynamic websites.
